This series of work began in Soho, New York as instinctual expressions of energy vibrations. These are typically drawn with ink and prisma color pencil on top of a colored paper board. Since 2015, I have been working in this style by focusing on a person or moment and drawing the energy I sense from them. It’s a gestural practice that involves responding to the energy waves that I cannot see, but feel, and can express. I start by deleting the colored background that most represents the person or moment in questions and the rest builds itself in the moment of creation.

After consistently working on my ‘Energist’ abstract style I started to explore new mediums. Since fabric was part of my early life with my families fashion brand, I felt very comfortable exploring it, and being like most women, I enjoyed dressing up in exciting clothes, so the design came naturally. When I started to apply my style and technique to fabric, it was an instant match. The texture of silk rivaled the best primed canvas and my instantaneous, expressive technique suited the inability to make mistakes.
I’ve evolved my work with fabric in many directions creating free standing silk sculpture, hanging pieces, walk mounted fabric art, site specific installations and one-of a kind wearable art which all have been internationally exhibited and considered pioneering in the field. I now work with fabric in much of a ‘drawing’ mindset (which is the primary category of me as an artist) where I create line-work of motion with the sculpture and reflection of the fabric. At times I leave the fabric unpainted, though I still consider my painted gowns some of the most successful and beautiful creations that I have made ‘till date.
To view these evolved directions see ‘Silk Sculpture’ and ‘Wearable Art’ categories.

I create with my mind, eyes and hands. I build visual discussions and immerse in cross cultural reactions to visuals. In art I work alone, listening to myself; thus every person and interaction becomes more significant. I’m part of the creative consciousness on the sphere that the exploration of my experience is relevant and applicable outside of myself. My contribution is cross-cultural visual communication. Through my work I explore beauty and unity with the desire to uplift vibration and spirit.

Possessing a love for drawing portraits and figures since an early age, I’m able to capture a life-like resemblance to the person creating their portrait through a live siting, or a photograph.
Drawing and painting people lead me to exploring things beyond what is able to be seen. Once I was able to replicate what I saw I found I was bored with it. The face is something unique as is the feeling and energy a person transmits.
First, I looked to draw what I saw. Then, I looked to draw beyond.
My first series of sketches in art school were about the life cycle of leaves, and the frailty of falling ones being a reflection on the frailty of human life. Since then I have often drew inspiration from plant structures, seeds and cells as exploration. In this series I explore the vision of cells though pattern and organic form together with thin layers of colored ink placed on top of the drawings.
